Don Cliquot (Donny) is a fabulous black Partbred PRE/Fusion yearling gelding by Grand Prix stallion Deseado CCV out of a top class KWPN mare by Sezuan. He has a wonderful kind temperament and easy to handle in every way with the farrier, vet and leads on headcollar. He is living out in a small herd at the moment and has no vices.

Donny has 3 super uphill paces and inherits his fabulous walk from his sire, Deseado. Donny will excel in the dressage field and also the showing field. He has superb conformation and is has strikingly good looks, he will be a lovely tall gelding and should make 17’2hh as he is 16’1hh now as a rising two year old. He is full brother to Don Diego born April 2024.

His sire, Deseado, is a 16.2hh PRE (Pura Raza Espanola) Dressage Stallion registered with ANCCE and bred by Francisco Santiago Ruiz in Molina, Spain. Deseado’s breeding is impeccable being pure Escalera (by Selecto VI out of Deseada LXX), he has an extraordinary temperament and fantastic trainability and has excelled in dressage from a young 4 year old, through all the levels, and successfully competed up to Grand Prix.

Deseado is homozygous for black (EE) and is available via AI only having 100% success rate for insemination using frozen semen. He produces stunning offspring displaying fantastic conformation, paces and manners. His first born colt, Desperado PPD, achieved Calificado status as a 4 year old.

Donny’s dam had a very successful BD career rarely scoring below 70%, she is by the legendary Sezuan who made history when he obtained a record breaking result of  ten scores of 10.0, more than meeting the high expectations placed on him. As a 3-year-old stallion, he won many European dressage experts’ hearts with his outstanding gaits and high rideability, and as a result he became one of Europe’s most popular young stallions. His extended walk is noted for its huge overtrack, and the trot is elastic, but it is the canter where Sezuan truly excels; at the seven-year-old World Championships, Eurodressage noted that Sezuan was “super-strong behind, sits well in the half pirouettes and produces very big flying changes,” also commenting the the canter was ground-covering and uphill. Sezuan’s young horse career has been outstanding. As World Young Horse Champion as a five-, six-, and seven-year-old, Sezuan is unbeaten at FEI Young Horse level, with scores of over 9.7 in the five- and six-year-old finals.
